New to the forums, saying hi.
Hello everyone. Just an introduction and some small anecdotes. No need to pay too much attention.
Name is illusion, and I have been pumped about this since the day I saw the concept. Most of my family has owned, or does own a Camaro (aside from my grandmother, who has always owned a vett, and now owns 3) I was pumped because I had already given up on continuing the tradition. Now I am saving my pennies looking forward to buying one as a "late" graduation present because I finish my degree in May this year. Cannot wait to destroy my friends who got mustangs or ricers. I leave you with a question. I need a "daily driver"/soon-to-be winter car for the time between graduation and the release. Probably used, around $10K. Any suggestions? |

Welcome to the board, what is wrong with the Monte?
Can't go wrong with a used Cobalt, great gas mileage and even the base ones have nice power.

I purchased the monte in high school by paying the tow bill for some other guy (800). It was a nice car then, but these 7 years have been tough on the old girl.
Her paint is shotty, her body is dented and dinged, and her interior is in shambles. It was like college made me stop caring about my ride. Aside from appearance she runs like a dream. I had considered a cobalt, but living where I do (WV) I really want to just break down and get a 4 wheel drive SUV or truck. |

My ZR2 Blazer does great in the snow, I used to run in the up in Washington State all the time. I know you can find one of them for under $10K.

Once I get my position with Lockheed Martin in may I am going to start putting away 1-1.5k a month. I figure that is going to give me a good size chunk when I pre-order it, and even more by the time it arrives at the dealership.

dont hate one me but get a honda. they ARE great cars, dependable and will hold their value. my crx had 281k miles on original engine and it got me 4k cash. this was a beater and was great on gas. buy one frm and old foggie cheap then sell it to some kid for roughly wut its worth. all this not bad for a 16 year old car. just dont soup it up and your good to go. and also they are cheap as heck to fix and keep up. just change oil when need be and it will serve you right. plus its fantastic gas mileage. im not sayin go get an old p.o.s. civic or something but get a decent accord or a newer civic and you should be good. or toyota or nissan.
