og battery left me stranded.

It was only a matter of time, My og 2013 battery took a dive on me when i was at the softball park coaching my daughters 9-10 year old team. I new this time would come, good thing one of the parents had some jumpers.
What's a good battery to replace it with? No red tops they are junk, never had a good one.

Still see some of the OEMs around but you would definitely need to check the date code. Still on original date stamped November 2012, always on a tender and add distilled water every year and do a refresh from the tender.

This happened to me, and my battery was fully charged (the car stays on a battery tender). Over time, the cells inside the battery wear out where it cannot hold starting power. Luckily a friend of mine had a portable battery jumper (It saved me a lot of grief and I learned a lesson). Now when I travel I make sure to have my portable jump starter handy.

I had a fairly new battery that would land the car in limp mode on a hot start. It was a warranty replacement, so I did not take it back. I added three additional grounds and brushed the paint off where the main ground on the engine connects to the chassis as well as where the battery negative connects to the chassis. Same battery, problem solved. If I had bought a new battery it would have fixed the problem for a while again, but I am getting tired of buying $200 batteries and want to have more time between replacements.

I’ve already added 2 extra 2 gauge grounds to the car. Transmission to chassis and battery to body. It’s just worn out.

I bought the OE AC Delco from Summit. AGM, inexpensive compared to the store, and so far so good. There was a thread here about it a couple of months ago.

I bought a new battery a couple of weeks ago just for peace of mind. I was still on the original one since the car was new....so it's going on 11 years this November. It never gave me a problem, but I figured I'd change it due to it's age. I brought the original battery back to Advance Auto to get the core charge refund and asked them to test it just for the hell of it. They said it tested fine, still had 620 out of 750 cold cranking amps left! I'm amazed after over 10 years it was still good. Guess putting it on a battery tender every winter really helps.

Run a tender 365 days a year, including the winter hibernation.

Ditto that, + annual refresh after topping off with water.
