I think the contrast of the leather to the vinyl actually draws attention to the handle which you don't want.

A foot e-brake pedal would have been a much better choice by GM. The lever looks terrible and tacked on.

Nope do not need to remove console, the lower passenger side trim piece below ebrake pops straight out. But be very careful. the little white plastic clips sometimes slip off the tabs or stick in the slot. If one falls down in console will be difficult to find it. To see what the tabs/white retainer clips look like you could look at a photo on ebay of that part showing back side of the trim panel.

I installed this aluminum billet handle which I think looks pretty good. Just slides over the black handle and tightens with a set screw - takes less than a minute. I think it makes the handle look shorter and matches the release button. People assume it's OEM. I added some other billet knob covers and they all match. Didn't overdo it, but I think it adds a little higher end feel to the interior.

That billet cover is exactly what I need. Is that the one from Phastek? Looks so much better.

Who cares what others think. If you like it, that's all that matters. I personally think that it adds a personal flare to it that no one else has. So, good job

I think id wreck my car trying to use a ratcheting foot-e-brake.

You do know that GM installed the lever there so you could turn to car when needed... right?

That lever operates an independent precision brake that allows controllable yaw.

Yes, GM did that for WRC homologation. Didn't you see the early 5th gens at Monte Carlo right there next to the Citroens?

That's a nice touch. Where did you get this?

Here is a photo from Driver's view showing other side with ebrake lever in down position - blends right in has double-row stitching match with seats and console.
Agree with OP this should be from factory this way or at least an option - looks like it was built this way on the assembly line ;-)

The tough part was customizing the visor so that also looked OEM; that part took a couple hours for the pair.

Hi Guys,
Happy you like it. Here's where I got it and I ordered the "polished" as opposed to satin because it matched the release button and the very little bling in this interior is polished.
