Need more info on the LOD

Part 1: So, it’s winter time and haven’t been driving the car, been thinking about possible upgrades after the last round was not up to expectations. I took the L99 apart and it got everything required to spin it 7000 plus, only limit is what the SBC will handle. 1 problem....at 6500 she shuts down. Done. No more power. Lol. I want to remove the next bottleneck being the stock intake and I’m having the rod mod done locally. That being said, I actually am dying inside because I want an LOD. Base price is 1500. Does it need aftermarket rails? Is anybody running it with a stock ported throttle body? Do I really need a 102? What is the realistic number to put this on my car please and thank you.

Part 2: my mods are in my signature, I set the car up initially to be a dig monster on the stock cam and it was. I will be getting a 4000 triple disk to replace the 3400 single I’ve been running. Fuel system and 2” headers are coming as well. With the LOD, should I keep the 3.91s? I’ve been mulling this over for awhile, everybody and their mom wants to roll not dig and I'm not going to say no. One thing I don’t like about the 3.91s on the auto is you use 3,4,5 for 50+ rolls. You would think it stays in the power band more with the shorter gears, but is that a deficit instead because I’m always in 5th past 120mph? I think 3.45s would be better suited for rolls but if I can spin the motor to 7-7500......? A stroker is not in the plans this year, but that’s my goal. I think the LOD would complement it nicely but let me hear y’all’s thoughts.

If you are staying NA then get the gpi rod mod ported and polished. It has shown the greatest gains out of all the intakes until you are boosted and it still shined there.

Spend the money saved for the other goodies you are wanting (converter, headers etc).

I'd go bigger cam if your going to swap to a hi ram style manifold like the Holley/Edelbrock/LOD

Holley high ram seems like the king but can’t fit under stock hood sadly.

I’ve seen that many of times, and TSPs lots of great info on power, I need the cost side of things.

The rod mod still falls of at 6700-6800 rpm. I WANT TO TURN 7000 plus!

That might be in the works, I want to remove all the bottlenecks on the night-furry until it’s the restriction and see what it does.

The Edelbrock ProFlo fits under the stock hood and is identical to the Holley in power production and RPM.
Mine has been on a year now.

True but I could’ve sworn you stated you have to trim the firewall, I’m trying to stay away from cutting anything, because if I started cutting I would gut the car and not care anymore.
