This is off topic, but I'm curious as to the price would be between a fully-loaded 370Z and a base Corvette. With the deep discounts of the 'Vette and the potential for dealer gouging on the Z, it couldn't be more than a couple grand.
Or is this too much of a case of apples v. oranges? (I was looking at the two seater v. another two seater, not a two seater v. a 2+2). Last edited by Mormegil; 11-23-2008 at 03:47 PM. Reason: Poor punctuation on my part! |

Am I just drunk or is there not an American, six-cylinder, two seater? I can't for the life of me think of one.

Rear seat in the Camaro appears fine for anyone 5'8" or shorter, which is a majority of the population...The torque of the V8 will more than make up for the weight difference...The 5th gen was made to go round corners, so don't expect to catch it there.
When both cars are on the track competing, the datsun will be competing with the V6 Camaro, some of you are expecting the datsun to be much more than it has historically been, from 60mph + it'll just be getting in the way of the faster Camaro. Keep your datsun in the far right lane please, faster car comin' thru. edit: It does look like a catfish Quote:
As long as we're making rediculous comparo's, I wonder if this 5th gen can run 8's

I like the whole concept of the Z which is an attainable purists 2 seater sports car. However, remembering my encounter with both cars at the show it was the Camaro that resonated with me the most. There's almost no comparison viewing the two in person. The Camaro is so much more emotional than most of any other car on the market within its price bracket, regardless of class. On the flip side if I'm thinking about stuff like fuel economy and a high quality interior I'm going to be more attracted to the Z. For me, right now those are the ONLY two cars on my short list of "next" rides.

The new Z isn't too bad. I need 4 seats though. The new G37(has 4 seats) is nice, but the 6sp manual starts around $37K for the base model. Wow!

Right now, with this economy, I'd be happy with any car while I can still afford it...
