What's up with DRL'S

Glad to be a new member. Just picked up my 2013 Camaro 2SS. It's Black on Black. It's everything I hoped it would be. But I do have a question about the Daytime Running Lights.I have the knob set to Auto but the DRL'S do not come on. The only thing that comes on are the Fog Lights. I wonder what is going on here. Any advice would help. Thank You. Also I haven't started any mods yet. It already has a good exhaust system on it. So what should I do to it next. Like the forum......

Welcome aboard. Headers and a cold air intake are normally some of the first performance mods for the SS cars. After that it’s time for a cam and supporting parts and a good dyno tune. Rear suspension mods at a minimum are a must, toe links, trailing arms, LCAs and stiffer/solid bushings will go a real long way in getting the power down without wheel hop.

Those will be a good starting place to spend several grand of your hard earned money

those 'fog lights' are the DRL's. The SS's don't actually have Fog Lights on them.

Like everyone already said, the fog lights are actually the DRLs and not fog lights on these cars. GM usually takes the headlights and runs them at 50% to be daytime running lights on most cars, but that is bad for the headlights that your Camaro uses, so the fog lights was their solution.

That's true and false. DRL's replace the fog lights in models with HID headlamps. Vehicles with standard headlamps have fog lights

If you have HID headlights, you most likely have the RS package. What color are your SS emblems? With the RS package, you do not have fog lights. The lights in those locations are the DRLs. The DRLs turn off when the headlights are on. You can make wiring changes to allow the DRLs to be on at night. What are you calling the DRLs in your post, the headlights?

Yep. Functioning as DRL's, not fogs on your model. If you'd like them to stay on all the time and be both "fog" and DRL, this will do it. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

All you needed was just one of those for the DRLs to stay on.

Think I will go with a cold intake first. Thanks for the tips.
