I spoke with my dealer earlier today 6/1/09 and ask about my order and he said he thinks the next round of cars will be baged 2011's and not 2010's i ordered mine 5/14/09 and the order hasnt been pulled by gm yet anybody else hearing this same rumor? thanks,shawn

First I heard of this, doesn't make sense since the 2010 Camaro is already being produced way ahead of the normal MY10 build.

Wouldn't expect MY11 to start until next summer.

i hope you guys are right im gonna be pissed if i get a 2011 in the middle of 2009 that just sounds stupid but who knows

What he probably meant was, he is out of allocations and cannot get you one until model year 2011, which get built late next spring.

he got 7 allocations last time and the rep told him he will get atleast that many again im number three on the next round and the car is supposed to be in around august or september hes saying he thinks the preorders will be the only 2010
's built which sounds retarded to me i just wondered if you guys may have heard anything like that

If he's saying he THINKS that's what's going to happen, then he's just some guy speculating. Find out what he knows for certain so you can separate that from what he guesses.

he is right....the batch of cars built after the 2010 model year will in fact be 2011s.....unfortunately for him though, that won't happen til sometime next July or August....they will be making 2010s for a while.

I'd love to have a 2011 car and actually own it in the year 2009! Think of the resale, it'd take forever to go down! LOL

I talked to a sales manager a couple of weeks ago that said production would be limited to 15,000 units and that justified his $4,000 mark-up.

We've had VINS posted here that suggest they're in the 17,000 range already. Given that there's 10-15k preorders, that would imply there's no dealer lot camaros coming in 2009. They're working around the clock at Oshawa, probably 600 cars/week.

He might be from a dealership slated to close, wants to scare people into a sale maybe?
