Sunroof or T-Tops
Anybody missing t tops or sunroof on their Z ?
I remember back on the 80s you could add a sunroof. Last edited by Norris Camaro; 01-08-2018 at 11:18 PM. |

The 2nd Gen couldnt be ordered with (I know you said add) a sunroof. The Hurst and Fisher T Tops were OEM.
And No, just no to adding either to a 5th gen Z/28. Better off getting an SS, and sticker it up as a Z28 without the slash.

If it didn't make it faster, or was legally required, it was deleted. Fog lights, navigation, back up camera, sunroof, heated seats, back up sensors, HUD, etc.

Defeats the purpose of the Z/28 losing weight for the track. I mean, like they even reduced the glass thickness to save weight and you want to add t-tops?

+1 - goal was light weight and track oriented hence no sun roof!
If it had a sun roof I would not buy it. |

Because there was one option for the racecar, 7 speaker sound system, and A/C. As already stated, if it didnt make it faster or serve the "race car" feel/purpose it was omitted.
IMO, if a sunroof or T Tops is what you want, there are shops that will do the mod. But expect the value to take atleast a 10% cut for a non standard modification.

When I was looking at Camaros, every one on the lot had a sunroof. Salesman looked at me like I was crazy for NOT wanting a hole in the roof. After my experience with t tops in my IROC, there is no way I want a hole in the roof.

T-tops today don't leak and sunroofs offer a free open feeling when cruising. Sadly GM engineers did not add the option. Regrettable and unfortunate.
