ZL1 or ZL1 1LE
Looking to get into a 6th gen. This is going to be a regular summer driver. There may be a rare possibility of a track day or auto x. I plan on running it in some 1/2, 1/4, 1/8 mile drags and roll races monthly.
So the question is what would you choose? 18 ZL1 1LE, 19 ZL1 10 speed or 19 ZL1 6 speed. Please feel free to expand on your opinions.

ZL1. The aero on the 1LE will slow you down and it is too harsh of a ride to want to just bop around in if you are not going to the track. If tracking is a rarity, it will be a waste to buy the track package which throws out comfort for performance.

Go A10 for monthly roll and drag racing.
I'd avoid the 1LE due to the harsh ride. The only benefit is going around corners at >9/10ths. |

Get the ZL1 A10 it will more than meet your needs and add the 1LE aero down the road if you desire. That's a win win in my book.

I’d go for the 1LE. I love the looks of the 1LE. I know you can add the looks of the 1LE to the regular Zl1 but it’s not the same. It would bother me if I had a regular Zl1 and turned into a 1LE looking car.
The only downfall to the 1LE Im my opinion is the stuff ride. A change of the stock tires provides some relief so unless you’re driving it EVERYDAY I wouldn’t worry about the stiffness.

You need too drive both. I don’t find the harsh ride on the ZLE to be as harsh as it’s made out to be. The ZLE just looks sic!!!

Don’t believe the stiff crap on the ZL1 1LE. I have over 23k miles on mine and half of those came from my wife. Go test drive and see.

I would say a ZL1 and 10 speed auto if you are going to track some events. Also it depends on your budget and if you want to spend extra money for a track focused Z. Good luck and you really can’t go wrong with either choice.

The harsh ride doesn't bother me, my wife doesn't mind it if were on short trips. It would be an everyday Summer driver for me. I'm just not a huge fan of the wing on the 1LE, but not a deal breaker. As far as re-sale later on down the road I think the 1LE would hold value better, but whatever.
I found a few 18 1LE's and a few 18 ZL1's with some great incentives on them. Any big differences between the 18's and 19's?

My vote for you is the ZL1. Unless you track the ZL1 1LE on road courses a couple of times every year, the ZL1 will be your ticket.

I see a lot of used low miles 1LE for sale, One in Orlando has 26 miles used. Why? The rough ride?

No real differences between the 18s and 19s except for the 2019 tail lights. If you can get an 2018 for a good price then I would say buy it!

Well. 3 of those came from the dealer. So I hope a decision to ditch the car was not reached in 23 miles. That’s winning.

I’m hearing differing opinions about the ZLE’s ride quality. I’ve never driven one and test drives are hard to come by. I’d appreciate any other input for owners about that. I’m not looking for an “air ride” but would want to be comfortable.
