I bought the faster orange model, and brakes just slow you down anyway.

I drove one...If I was a track guy, sure, it's worth the upgrade. But I'm not, so my SS tears up the street just fine. Besides, my car is faster than I'll ever be!

I didn't realize you got all of that for $3500! Wow! I have the exact opposite question from the OP - why would not buy the 1LE? Dang.

As for me though, no vert 1LE right? Ha

If you prefer effortless driving the 1le is not for you. Get an automatic and appreciate the fact you never have to manually shift with a clutch again. The hood in particular should be painted black. The hood wrap looks/is cheap. The black wheels are nice but I very much prefer the aluminum Zl1s. The best part of the 1le package is the suede steering wheel. GM needs to make the suede package available for any 14 SS. The suede steering wheel is essential.

They shouldn't even be allowed to make an automatic camaro.

While I agree that the 1LE is a killer deal for 3500 bucks, I wouldn't trade my SS in for one. If I was buying the car new, sure, without a doubt I'd be checking that box. And I kinda like the matte hood.

I'm mainly just wondering why you would want to trade your street driven SS, or your SS that you drag race for a 1LE, it's a track oriented car. Does it ride better, can you really tell the difference on the street or do you just feel like you are driving an SS with more expensive tires and a flat black hood?

I can understand if you are an auto crosser or trading up from a V6 you may as well throw that package in I guess.

This reminds me of when people ask me why I have my tats... I just kinda shake my head.

I have posted this before and will probably have to post this again. Other than the LS there is nothing practical about Camaro or their owners.

If money is limited. I would forgo the 2SS and the RS and get the 1LE package. It is that good... or should I say, an enjoyable driving experience.

No Rage. Some of us "more sophisticated" individuals do understand that some prefer a non technological, and uncivilized throw back from the early 20th century.
I may have heard rumor that 2015 may come with a steam powered engine option and buggy whip steering to go with your purist manual trans.

I wouldn't trade my SS in for one because it is not worth it. if it was my first car I would consider that.

and I would never buy an automatic camaro for many reasons

The "its a great deal" sounds a lot like when people buy stuff they don't need just because "its a great deal." I am still saving for the Camaro (yes it has been a really long time :( ) but when I can finally afford it I will probably not get the 1LE. The only thing I would like would be the rims, other than that everything else would be pointless since I don't track the car.

BTW there aren't many reasons why some people get the 1LE other than because of the great deal thing. Its kind of funny.
