WOW! You have lots of HP's there. I'm not familiar with how to read the air mixture on the dyno sheet but it runs great and I beat the heck out of the car. My tires are still stock but they are shot, I will be getting new tires in the spring. I'm not thrilled about having to add 5 gallons of 100 Octane to every tank of gas but I guess its worth it for now.

How do you think that would crack the cover?? I'm not a mechanic but I do something about motors. I'm always open for input. Let me know.

Running lean causes detonation, leading to broken engine parts - such as cracked pistons and broken rings for starters. Fuel rails getting starved for fuel can do the same. I have 2 friends that just stroked thier 2010 supercharged Camaros due to detonation - one of them responded to your Air Fuel ratio being way out of wack (for a supercharger). I'd rather bring it to your attention and be wrong than say nothing at all. Maybe your fuel type permits high AFR #?

Here's my far fetched possible crack theory: Maybe detonation occurred while an intake valve was partially opened and backfired into the supercharger? Just food for thought. Your's is the only one that this happened to, so could be as simple as overtightened bolts - but AFR still seems way to lean. Hope this helps.

Backfired into the supercgarger..... You know what, you may be right. I was told I had to run higher octane than 92 so they told me to run 104 Sunoco. I got a barrel of the Sunoco 260GT Plus, the Plus is for additive. Well the additive was not the right thing for my car, it took out the plugs and gummed up the oxygen sensors and the car ran like crap. There was some backfiring through the intake. They changed out the plugs and oxygen sensors and still ran like crap that's when they found the broken cover. Now I am running 100 octane clear and have had no problems. I have put on about 1000 miles since then and the thing is running great and I run it pretty hard. I can come to a complete stop, let off the brake and hit the gas with my automatic it spins all the way through 3rd gear almost in 4th. Last night I layed down atleast a 300' black mark...lots of fun for now. Thanks for the input.

I try to keep up with the price PMs, but if I've missed somebody along the way, please send me a PM and I'll respond. Or, just check the website. We've already got the lowest price we're allowed to offer (Edelbrock wont include their warranty if its sold at an advertised price below ours) and there's free shipping to the Continental 48 States!

Thanks,
Matt

At the request of many Camaro5 Forum members, we have started carrying the brand new Edelbrock E-Force Camaro SS Supercharger. This is for the 2010+ Camaro.

The Edelbrock Supercharger is good for 599HP. The kit is a low profile supercharger that fits under the stock hood. It is an Eaton-Roots style blower that mounts right on top of the intake manifold and FITS UNDER THE OEM HOOD!

We have two of the 1597 Kits for the Auto tranny in stock and 2 of the 1598 Kits for the Manual Tranny arriving in the next few days. .

More info below...

Would love to see someone install one of these!!!!

Supposedly, the installation is "very easy"

Jim

Something isn't right with your tune. Guys are getting these hp numbers everyday 0n 92 and 93 octane pump fuel. Forget that extra 40 hp and get the tune right or you will be putting another $7000 into your motor.
