Best spark plugs?

I'm having trouble finding info by searching. I have the LS3 and I'm getting reading order headers and a tuner from RDP. Since I'll be removing the plugs to remove the OEM headers, I figured I'd replace the plugs wince I assume they're the originals.

I'm assume I need the .040's but it seems most of the iridium plugs seem to be geared towards forced induction, or highly modified motors. My only other mods are CAI and axle back exhaust. I know it won't make a major difference, but I am just curious as to what you guys would advise I buy to replace the current ones?

Thanks.

The factory Ac Delco plugs are Iridium. Factory works just fine until you start messing with engine work or add FI.

that depends on compression. Im on TR7IX. its 2 heat ranges colder than stock and normally for boosted applications since its better at resisting knock

i raised the SCR on my car with the milling of the heads. the idea is to go with the hottest plug and not have knock. i havent tried the TR6IX but when i take the car in for manifold, and E85 tuning, in gonna take a set of each and let them figure out which one works best

TR6 is a popular plug for that.

Do we have a thread with a sticky listing different plugs and gaps for different applications? Yeah, I realize that could end up being an infinite number of listings with so many parts/setups out there.

I've had my car for ten years last June with the S/C since for about 9 of those years. I'm at 32K miles and still on the original plugs and wires. After looking around this forum, I'm thinking of getting Taylor 409 wires in blue.

Am thinking AC Delco or NGKs, but which versions, platinum or iridium? I keep seeing gap to 0.040, so I'm guessing that's stock. Saw dynodteve's recommendation of 0.032. Is that suitable for my setup?

Thx.

I use the Taylor 409s, they've been great. Even with 2 inch primary headers. Same set for 4 years now.

In my opinion, I would move away from Iridium since you are FI and get a copper plug. At your power level, the #6 heat range plugs would probably be best. NGK TR6 are very popular. (part#4177)

I moved to the ngk br7ef which is a non extended tip copper plug in the #7 heat range, but I dont like the idle/driving manors. Considering going back to the tr6.

The TR6s were definitely one of the options I was considering. Thx! What about gapping them?
