Gas in the oil?
Evening. I had an error code for a bad fuel injector and a misfire on number 7 Accompanied by a bogging issue and a lack of power in general. I replaced the bad injector and the issue went away. Car was back to full power, no bogging no hesitation and thought I was good to go. I immediately noticed my gas milage was horrible. And there was a smell of gas from the exhaust.Then the car started blowing white smoke out of the exhaust. I drove it home maybe 5 mins and it didn’t want to crank again. I checked the oil and the dip stick was reading 2 inches above full aswell as smelling like gas. What should my next step be? There’s obviously gas in the oil pan from flooding cylinder. My car was
Tuned after the cam install about a month ago. Would the tune have something to do with this? Are guys able to just replace the one bad injector without replacing the others? Thanks |

Bad injector was cause of high oil level/gas in oil, hard start,smoking... ..change the oil.

You can replace one injector yes but often times the others are ready to go as well. Can't tell you how many times i see a car come in have an injector replaced then another goes, then they replace the whole bank. In this situation a fuel injector balance test would be in order. Sounds like some are stuck open.

Drain the oil, change the filter, buy the cheapest walmart oil and filter and refill. Doesn't need to be full, is that about 4 quarts of cheap oil to bring it to the low mark? Run it about 5 or 10min then do the second oil and filter change with good quality synthetic oil to the full mark and high quality filter.

Thanks. I drove the car for about two weeks before checking the error codes and finding the misfire and bad furl injector. Why wouldn’t the car have been smoking and getting oil in the gas during all that time? It happened quick as soon as I replaced the bad injector, which did fix the bogging.

The opposite is what should have happened. What your saying is oil level was fine until you replaced a bad injector when in fact the oil level would be fine now that the injector is replaced. Perhaps it's an anomaly.

Well it’s what happened lol. I just cleaned the injectors and reinstalled them. I can’t change the oil till my wife gets home with the jack. I’ll post what the results are. Thanks again

Hydrolocking an engine can be a good way to change the shape of some parts. NVM what I said about oil change if it's still hydrolocked.

Turned out to be a short on the wire for the number 7 injector. Got it fixed, replaced all spark plugs. All of em were charred black from the excess fuel. Installed a new set of msd wires that can be bent away from the headers. Spark plugs were replaced with ngk br7ef since I just ordered a nitrous plate kit. Idle is a little low, I’m gonna get the shop to raise it up using hp tuners. Thanks for all the reply’s!
