CNC Heads?
Car already has the following CAI, LT Headers, and a Cam. I'm at 470 rwhp, is it even worth installing new heads? If so what would the gain be roughly? Looking at about 1800 bucks for CNC heads. Thanks

You can see what many different CNC heads are worth here compared to stock.
http://www.hotrod.com/how-to/engine/...er-heads-test/ From the results it indicates it's a lot of money for a small gain in HP. |

You can get TSP factory cast heads CNC ported for 900, but honestly I'm in a similar boat and say just put the money toward an LSA conversion.

If you plan on FI stay with the stock heads since porting isn't necessary. If you wanna stay N/A and want bigger gains, get more displacement. I wanted to stay N/A and if you check my sig you can see I made some nice tq gains with TSP heads. As my turner told me, its not just about individual mod gains but on how all the mods will compliment each other..

Decide what your goals are for use, HP and TQ. Once you lock those down, there are a lot of people on this board that can help you get there.

My opinion is it's always a good thing to make things more efficient. Especially under boost....

IMO not worth it, So little gain for the money. If your trying to sqeeze every last bit of power out of your engine, then hey go for it.

The conclusion I have come to is if you have the motor apart it can be worth it to just do CNC heads. Make sure to mill them to boost compression, be aware of valve clearance.
If you already have it together it's not worth doing unless you go for some of the heads that change the geometry ex. TSP, Trick Flow, or Mast... still make sure to mill and bump up compression minding valve clearance. With the right heads and your existing mods you could be at or over 500RWHP. Assuming the cam is up to it. Drive ability is more important than Dyno numbers.

Texas Speed can get you setup with CNC porting of your stock castings for way under a grand. It'll gain about 25-30rwhp & put you right at that 500rwhp mark!!

How would I ship them to get ported?

I think they have an option to send cores back and then you can reuse their shipping box. Less down time also.
