New top...what do you think?

I got my new top today, just the cloth, not the mechanism. It passed the pour test with flying colors and the top no longer touches the back of the car when it goes into the well. Here are some pictures. Experts, what do you think?

The only concern I have is the silver cable at the back and the small piece of plastic that looks like a clip that's not secure. It's only on the driver's side.

The cable is loose here, but not on the other side.

Much better here:

This sits up higher than before. I know the tonneau is going to rub here.

I thought a shot of the tag might be helpful. Can anyone tell me if it's the newest model? I'm guessing no because of the 8/11 date on there. Hmmm.

This is not right, sorry but it looks like the install of this new cover was done wrong. There are several issues. I am on my mobile but will chime in tomorrow with more details.

Rubbersoul...my convertible was built on 4/3/2012 and the date on my tag is 2/29/2012. Good luck with your new top.

looks like the locking strip is not seated fully into the channel. It should look like the passenger side.

The weather strip seems to be not in it's proper place as well. Both easy fixes. 5 minutes.

Yes, the tag has a huge Made in Mexico stamp on it.

It's my belief they were a little sloppy with your install but possibly not as bad as others. Here is a link to my thread were I have before and after pictures of my top replacement:

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=248940

Any picture with an August date is the old top and any picture with a September date is the new top (the same revision as yours).

The second to last picture is with the top all the way down? You can clearly see the tonneau cover retaining pins. You can't see them easily when my top is completely down. Something doesn't look right there. I have to reach under to latch my cover if I ever wanted to put it on (which I don't because I don't trust it).

woodj, the pins are a little more visible than with the original top, but I could see them before. The back of the top no longer touches the back of the car when it's down. The whole top looks more narrow, but they didn't change the mechanism. It's now easier to install the tonneau. It caused rub marks before, so I'm trying to use it every time before I put her in the garage for the winter just to see what happens.

SSTOKED, thank you! I am showing them your pictures as well as mine when I go back!

Thanks everyone for your input! I would have no clue had it not been for this forum!

Today I noticed a bunch of small metal filings all over the inside of my car and down in the crevices of the seats. Really? There was plastic on the driver's seat when I picked it up and I didn't notice until today. It's coming from the inside of the top when I lower it because it was on the edges of the rear seat AFTER I put the top back up. Guess where I'm going tomorrow? The dealer needs to find a new trim shop!
