2012 2SS value question
I will soon be in the market to buy a Camaro was considering going new, but I have a guy (family friend) in my town thats wanting to deal his 12 2SS RS Coupe. Says he would make me a hell of a deal on it. Heres the options I know for sure.
2012 2SS RS Coupe Victory Red/ Black SS Stripes 2,000 miles never abused always garaged Black/Gray seats Auto Polished rims Dealer installed Blade Spoiler Blue Book says around $34,800. If he's truly willing to deal and give me a hell of a deal on it like he's saying. What would you guys consider a fair hell of a deal or a good starting offer? Wow....seems like a lot of money even for Blue Book. Can't you buy one new for about that amount?
I would think he would need to sell it to you closer to the $30k range.

I agree I had value shock after I entered all the info, that price is the excellent condition on blue book though. I don't want to try to totally rake him over the coals on this deal. But, he told me he'd have to think about what he'd have to have out of it. I'd feel pretty good if I got it for any where around $30,000 and feel like I stole it for under 30k. I was just trying to come up with a non absurd starting offer. Anybody got any suggestions?

$30k.....you can always go up but will never go back down.
See if you can go by a dealer and find out what you can get into a 2013 for. If there is only a couple thousand difference you'll probably be better off with a new one. Just my opinion.

I've never haggled with him, but he's good friends with my dad. I might just shoot him a $28,000 offer and see if he flinches. Especially if he's inclined to not name a price and has me starting the money haggling. I mean the car is paid for, he doesn't drive it, he himself said he thought it was going to be the cats meow and lost interest in it. I guess I just need to see how much he wants to make a hell of a deal. Some of the major pro's to the deal is its practically brand new, but yet almost a year old. Huge plus on Kansas Tags and Taxes where you get kinda raped. |

Take the car down to CarMax if there's one around where you live. See what they'll buy it for and offer him that. If you think the offer is too high he can sell his car to them and you go on your way, no hard feelings.

Agreed with the guy above. My 2SS 12 cost me around 35-36K new (I have almost the same exact car minus the spoiler) and this car is essentially new. Realistically unless he is completely desperate I would imagine the best you are going to be able to do is 31K.
