Brown spots on window trim

I noticed brown spots on the rubber trim around both windows towards the bottom. Tried rubbing it off but it did nothing. Could someone let me know what it is, what could have caused it, how to remove it and how to prevent it from happening again?

Not sure how much this thread can help. Looks like the photos and video has been removed. Maybe it will give you a starting point. Good luck.

Just a guess but it looks the same way old rubber molding gets when it dries out. Try using Vaseline or similar petroleum based product.

Zoom in on the op's picture. The pattern it makes. That is mold, which is why if you don't treat it as such it keeps coming back.

Even if you killed the mold, it probably etched into the rubber subtrate material. It's time for new $$$ window sill moldings.
