Anyone get a call?

My step mom just came in my room and said there is a lady from GM wanting to talk to me about an emergency service call for my camaro, so I take the phone and she got disconnected so I didn't get to hear what she had to say.

Anyone know what this is about? Legit recall on something? Or a scam?

I would watch my car and get it to a safe place, could be a scam to check on you to find when you're home or not. That could be true for your household also. Some scammers are checking who bought some luxury stuff and al they want is to steel it from you because they think that you've got the money.....

Only call we've gotten regarding the Camaro is about the XM trial ending. Like montreal said, be on the lookout because it sounds like a scam. I'm sure if the recall or w/e was legit there would already be a thread on here about it.

I got a call from GM asking about how I liked the Camaro back in October. I went through a bunch of non-invasive, general questions about it.

Then after about 5 minutes, she asked how long I've owned it. Once she found out I owned it for less than 30 days, she said, "I'm sorry but we're only taking the opinions of Camaro owner's who have onwed their cars for more than 30 days."

Kind of like those political calls when they take surveys, they ask you a bunch of questions and then when they find out you support the other guy they hang up.

Next time they call make sure to give them your SS# and credit card info. That should clear things up.

FYI that was a joke. DO NOT do that! lol I wouldn't worry. If it's anything serious they'll call back.

lol V6sonoma... haha yea i wouldnt worry to much about it, the mild fix's i have had so far were all done by letters, if it was major, i wouldnt give any info to anyone, take your car to your dealer. If they ask for any info period they are not your dealer, they should have that all in record infront of their faces.

I received a call from GM (caller ID confirmed) that said he was calling for the engineering group and asked me questions about how I liked the different functions in the car. Call took less than 5 minutes and didn't ask for any identifiable information other than I was the primary driver.

You can go to http://gmownercenter.yahoo.com/portal/landingpage.php if you haven't already and set up an account. They have a tab for recalls on your car once you put in the VIN.

I'd assume it was a scam and act accordingly.

My caller ID has shown that General Motors has called me the last two days. I was not home at the time so I don't know what they wanted, I'm guessing they want to have me take a survey. They have also sent e-mails about XM and On Star.
