I do that with 9:11...

Part of me wonders if I just notice it because the number is significant, but I don't often notice looking at the clock at 12:16 (my birthday).

Ok, I GOT to chime in here. I have always done that with 11:11 and I wondered over the years why that is. I think what happens is once you reallize a certain time as recuring situation, you will always notice that time, no matter how many times you look at a clock.

I probably see plenty of other times more than that but it seems like that is the one that's the most because I remember the recurance.

Iv'e actually looked at a clock at 11:10 and waited for it to say 11:11 just because.

exactly, my dad does the same thing with that same time.

He swears that the number 11:11 is his calling for something greater

I try to explain to him that it's just a sub-conscience reaction, and that his mental clock is programed to know when that time is.

He doesn't get it and thinks I'm crazy for thinking that. Now instead of trying to explain I just sit back and laugh.

Hummmmm........
My deal is with the odometer in my Impala SS and our S10 truck; I NEVER look at them but when they are at an even number, like 60,000 or 70,000, it REALLY stands out and I notice, and we're moving!
Always thought that was weird........

This happens to me a lot with cars. Once I "learn" a new car, or color, or anything like that, I suddenly tend to notice them ALL THE TIME. But really, they were always there... I just never cared. I dunno how to describe it but it makes sense in my head
