Yep, this game is like video game crack!
Play everynight with a bunch of guys, can't get past 4 days life, first time 6 of use went up in a huge explosion when the driver of our van ran into a rock wall.... was too funny to get worked up about it. Last night me and another of our group got merc'd by a hacker, know he was a hacker because another of our group got him and found he had hacked weapons ( Scar-L ) along with everybit of hard to get kit. We just start again and keep going if need be, it's too much fun! |

Here's the homesite for the mod http://www.dayzmod.com/
It's like a FPS type game but like no other. Imagine a videogame modeled after the TV series The Walking Dead, this is what it would be. This mod is only in Alpha stage and has a few random bugs, but even with those and not a finished mod or even in Beta yet, it's pretty freaking awesome. It's being developed by one of the ARMA series lead developers, so it is not an add on or a partial modification, it is a complete modification. Expect to be lost at first, the learning curve is steep, but once you get the general idea of how stuff works and a general idea of navigating it becomes pretty fun. Teaming up with others makes the experiance even more fun. Expect paranoia, I'm freaking half scared to go out on my own once I get kitted back up.. LOL The only objective of the game is to survive and see how long you can keep your character alive! When you die, you start back from scratch again. |

Just spent about 2 hours scavenging while being very cautious only to be sniped through a window from who knows where...... I really hate/love this game.

Tree stands are your friend when you're just starting out. Barns can be handy (usually a shotgun or crossbow in there) but also tend to have a lot of zombies around them. Fire stations, same thing - lots of zombies but tend to have nice gear in them (found an AR one time and a large pack). Most of the military spec guns are going to be clear up in the airbase, which is crawling with zombies and usually bandits will camp here to kill people that wander in.
Super markets are also a good place for supplies, some of them can be find on the edge of small towns making them a LOT easier to sneak into without attracting zombies.
