Nitrous question
As some of you know, I'm old but new to drag racing, and some friends are pushing me to put a Nitrous bottle on my L99. I'm very reluctant to do this, but want to ask you guys that drag race with nitrous on a street car a few questions. Does the tune need to be different (i.e. a new tune loaded at the track) to run nitrous on a street car? What are the mechanical issues, such as parts failures, when spraying?
Thanks, Jeff |

i run the same tune in my car at all times. i have a lnc2000 that i pull 1 degree of timing for every 25 shot of nitrous. run colder plugs aswell. br7ef ngk . nitrous can backfire. if ur luck it will just blow a hole in the intake or blow apart ur filter. but can destory a engine. lots of saftey stuff to help tho. window switch . wide open throttle switch. fuel pressure switch.

Very good systems out there in today's market. Install exactly how the manufacturer says and don't go to big. Safety items, low fuel pressure switch is a MUST and bottle pressure gauge are the very least items to run. Everything else is a plus to the safety side. I have over 150 runs on the bottle with my V6 and things are good so far. Lots of knowledge on here don't be afraid to ask more questions.
