MRR M228 Lug issue
Just got these things re-powdercoated, and I have a set of gorilla lugs for them, model number 71643nbc to be exact. When the guy went to remount the wheel, he chipped the powdercoat because the lug diameter is so wide/recessed. I've also noticed that the front lugs are a lot more recessed than the back, but never thought of it as an issue until now.
Has anyone else run into this problem, and what did you do to fix it? Trying to make a purchase this weekend so I can get it recoated next weekend/during this week.

My lugs do the same. It’s not a problem.
Concerning the chips, do not cross thread, be more careful. Touch up color is the way to go. Yes they are tight fit. |

the problem is the tech just grabbed there standard daily socket slapped it on the gun and brrrrrrrrrrrrr.
a proper tech would place the lug on the socket with his hand and did a quick fit test on it, then used a thinner socket. but for your case I would just get spline lugs as they use a tuner size key and you wont have to worry about tech damaging the lug hole area unless they are just not careful at all/ |

I'm using gorilla lugs in the front, and the ones that came with the wheels were way too short/recessed into the wheels. Upon replacing them, I actually chipped it myself (oh well, it's getting recoated anyway) by accident, and I was going by hand.
Anyway, to anyone else that runs into this issue, I suggest you get these lugs *for the front*, as when I installed them today, they fit fantastically, and the socket key is long and narrow enough so that it doesn't rub the wall of the lug hole and doesn't allow the socket to touch the wheel at all. For the front: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Gorilla apparently makes a short version of these, but the part number isn't listed on their site. These are the duplex black chrome lugs. This is the page where I found these, we have 14x1.50 lugs: http://www.gorilla-auto.com/small-di...g-nuts-page-02

Did you by just ten or a full set. I think those would stick out to much in the rear. Could you post a picture I'm interested because the front lug nut bug me because they are recessed.
