There is nothing to refuse! Show me where "IT" states if the officer doesn't show you his radar reading that the ticket can be thrown out.

You don't think a lawyer would lie to you? You used lawyer, don't and lie in the same sentence. That should be enough to tell you that lawers lie all the time....that's their business.

How damn easy would it be for me to lock in 73 mph in a 55 and keep it there all day on my readout? Hello? There is NO way to tell. So what is the point of me showing you a BS 73 in a 55 when you were doing 68?

Get my point? Your claim has no merit and is logically illogical.

While on the subject. Which radar detector is best? 9500ix..or the Valentine One V1?

I heard that the Passport 9500IX is better than the Valentine due to the GPS. That is, the Passport has the ability to "learn" to filter out false signals making it quieter as you drive the same route. Most radar detectors detect all signals. The better ones are actually quieter so they prevent the "Boy who cried wolf" factor. If your radar detector is constantly going off, it doesn't do you much good because you start to ignore it.

That said, I do live in California. I drive down Highway 80 every day. I have yet to be pulled over by a CHP, but was worried I might get a ticket in the mail. Like I said, I am completely aware that the sky patrol can tell you are speeding. I guess my question revolved more around timing. That is if a sky patrol saw I was speeding and then radioed down to the CHP on the ground to nab me, I figured I might have some time to slow down before the CHP on the ground officially clocked me with his own detector.

Has anyone ever been issued a citation by the sky patrol specifically?

Cheers,

Heelhook

Sorry but it doesn't work like that.

In all 50 states a police officer has to get radar certified and to get that they have to be able to tell a car's speed within 3 mph of the actual speed multiple times in a row with eye alone, not just one or two lucky guesses. This certification and their word that you was going a certain speed IS permissible in a court of law and holds just as much weight as an actual radar reading.

If you are going to go to the trouble of painting. Paint new markers..... further apart.

I like your thinking. 150mph becomes 50mph

I heard of a guy that drove through phoenix in a lightning storm and got flashed with speed camera twice. He did not know what it was until he got two tickets in the mail he thought it was lightning.

If you have a smartphone, get the app for speedtraps. They are updated realtime and cheaper than a radar detector. App will notify you via GPS locationand any active LIDAR/Radar in area.
I have the app called Trapster speed trap alert, on my Iphone. It's data base is collected from users who report speed cameras, red light cameras or places where police hide.
It uses the cell towers to triangulate your location when you report a cop hiding out or checking radar etc.
It is difficult to report what you see if your trying to drive and navigate the menus to report a live cop. If your riding with a passenger great.
It will also tell you if it is a current report or live.
The problem you cannot rely on the reports to be accurate or current. But its better than nothing. It has saved me a few times.
Also if you don't have it plugged in to power supply, The program will drain your phone battery in a couple of hours.
