Am I crazy!?
I have a 2012 ZL1 with 11k miles on it. I am at a Chevy dealer looking at a 2007 corvette z06 with 20k miles on it. Super clean, perfect shape. They are asking 42k for it and I got them down to 40k. They are willing to give me 41 k for my car which is a grand more than I got it for. No warranty on the new car, but other than that I'm really feeling it. What do you guys think?!

i'd pick a z06 over zl1 any day... just be leery.. ls7 isnt cheap to fix if it breaks down.. i heard a lot of bad thigns about the 07-08 ls7 motors but a lot claim that all years of the ls7 had the same lifter issue..

that car is 8 years old, age can be worse than miles.

Two totally different cars. That's a decision that only you can make based on what you like and what you feel are important aspects in a great car!

This is the exhaust valve issue right? This is the one thin I am very worries about. Should I be worried. I will never track the car and don't drive super aggressive...

Yeah. I mean I agree but it seems both cars are valued about the same. I also think the c6 z06 will hold its value very well for a long time. Just test drove it and wow, what an amazing machine. I think I may pull the trigger

Different cars for sure. I would drive both, but honestly for a daily the ZL1 is a much better car.
Head issues effects all Z06s. Doesn't matter if you drive it like a grandma, you can have an issue. Just budget $3-4k to have it fixed. Also budget in tires $1500-2500, brakes, etc. Clutch and hydraulics are also a weak point and can easily be $2-3k to fix. Price is a bit high too.

I bought the zl1 used. Yeah I think for peace of mind I will have the heads done. What is the recommended maintenance for that?

I think that's a bad decision. The ZL1 is the better car.

Every old man and his brother have a corvette (no offense). Seen so many in my area they don't even turn my head anymore. If I were you I would keep the ZL1.
