REMOVING AUTOMATIC SHIFT KNOB? ANYONE?

Does anyone know how to remove the stock LS/LT automatic shift knob? I searched, but couldn't find anything on it. I know the Manual Knob just pulls off...

Remove the plug with a small screw driver(better yet a flat-bladed plastic trim tool ) and then remove the screw ( see pic).

After searching I am unable to find how to remove the shifter plate, and I don't want to start unscrewing bolts, any help?

Under the plate in front of the shifter there's a white clip, but it doesn't look like a clip. There's also 2 more on the sides. Just pull the sides out towards that side (left to the left, and right side to the right) and pull the front forward. Their a bit of a pain , but they'll come off. Try this diagram and go to page 2.

Not sure if you did this or not yet, but its really easy.... I had a hard time putting the shifter back in over the plastic cover just used a small thin knife to slip it over it.
