Front Chevy Emblem Removal
Hello world. I've been following instructions on how to take off the front bowtie, and have gone as far as actually pulling the emblem out by moving the hooks in the back of it.
Thing is, mines not budging. Can anyone give me tips? |

Didn't have a probl getting mine off..needed alittle coaxing with some muscle and wiggling, but it came off. Actually it kinda disturbed me at how easily it came off..anyone could come steal it. I'll probably add alittle emblem glue when I put it back on.

Did you just pull it out from the front or did you wiggle the pins in the back?

Trying to remove the front bowtie myself, but I don't want to use too much pulling/twisting pressure. Afraid to break it even though I'm replacing it with a grille instert.

I followed that also, but when I was ready to pull the shroud out, I would have ended up scratching the crap out of the area behind the hood latch. In order to clear the hood latch you really have to pull up on the shroud, but at the risk/certaintity of scratching the area underneath and behind the shroud. I may try it again but this time getting a second pair of hands to help.

Just get a firm grip and slowly pull. It will come off. Did my bowtie delete in under 5 minutes.

any need to twist it clockwise or counter clockwise while you pull it out, or as you say, just pull straight out?

i did that some time ago , i did at first put a mirror behind and use a flash light to see how it is installed and had to use a flat screw driver to push the clips away from the back and push and pul on one side [right] then the left came out almost on its own there are two clips on each side you will have to squeeze them together [right top an bottom ] pul push out then do the same on the left and you are done

Four words: Pain in the ass. If its never been taken off before it is tough. I had to pry the tabs with my fingertips meanwhile pulling and twisting. I couldnt reach one tab so I just pulled/twisted as hard as I could not caring if something would break and BAM!! It came off without breaking anything. Just yank it off. The only thing you have to worry about damaging is your finger tips. Just be sure to pull straight out and not at an angle upward or downward - dont want to yank the thing off and then bash your bumper with it.

I tried mine last weekend. I got all the tabs but the bottom one. I pushed/pulled so hard, I still have numbness in the tip of my thumb. I think I caused some nerve damage. Going to go at it again this weekend, and going to get some tools to help it along.
I got a look at the tab and it looks like it's stuck with a bunch of road crap. So a wash might help as well. Things to keep in mind, I guess...
