Trip Odometer Problem
I just had my gauges replaced due to the speedometer not working and everything was done perfectly by the dealer. If anyone wants to know how to take the gauges out, you simply remove the top cover to the steering column and then there are screws behind it to remove the cluster.
The problem I ran into was with the trip odometers, both of them. When I initially brought the car in I wrote down all my info for the trip odometers incase they had to disconnect the battery, but apparently they didn't have to when they reprogrammed the gauges, so everything was still correct when I left the dealership. However when we were leaving Baton Rouge on Sunday, the replacement was done on Friday, I went to go write down the trip info because I was refueling, and when I checked both of them, they both showed the total mileage of the car on each of the two trip odometers. This was very odd so I just reset them back to 0 and will continue to reset them at each fill up. Has anyone else had this problem? |

when they reset and recalibrated the overall trip odometer, it probably just automatically added in the overall mileage to the short trip odo as well.

When I left the dealership I checked them both and they were both what they were before I went to the dealership.

yes the trip 1 was like 1908 (how many miles since oil change) and trip 2 was like 198 (how many miles on tank of gas at that time)
thats really wierd that the trip would change to the full odo reading. (you sure you didnt see an extra '0' in the trip 2 odo? lol) |
