Is this true?

I've been trying everything with mine, and it won't do anything. WTF? Why would they not give the same operations in the Vert?

True, coupes only.

Chevy figured the vert buyer was more of a cruiser than racer

Because the Vert doesn't have the same structural chassis support.

Shoot! The guy driving the Scat Pack that just saw taillights, would disagree!

This is my 4th Vert, from Cobra to LS1 SS, and I've owned a bunch of hard tops between. They've always had some system to compensate for the fact that there's s soft top.

I guess I'm just shocked they'd even make a Vert with the same chassis and power, and skip out on the options. Why not double the supports, supply same options?

Regardless, thanks fellas. I was seriously pulling my goat hair out trying to figure WTF was going on here.

It's because verts aren't allowed on a road course anyway. Not unless you install a rollbar.

Depends on the track and what kind of event.

I've had mine on two different road courses (Gingerman's and M1) with no issues.

BTW, not only doesn't the convertibles get the PTM's, it's top end is also limited to 155 by default due to the top.

They did add chassis bracing, thus the weight gain over the coupe.

Chevy also left PTM off the Gen 6 vert too; plus it also loses out on eLSD

Right, which is not the rarest mod. Lots of guys roll bar their verts.

Is this correctable? I swear I've had mine into the 160's on one of our 10 mile stretch straits. I bought mine used, so that's why I ask.

Not to sound old school, but what is eLSD. What kind of limited slip is that?

EDIT - OH....OH, Electronic. Duh.

Damn. You are right. I went out yesterday and opened it up on one of our lonely stretches, it just stops climbing at 155.

So if I hit that mile track here, I won't be able to go above 155. Total BS...

I went 160 in my 97' Cobra. I think that is really, REALLY stupid.

No worries, I didn't know what "FB" was in a different thread...

eLSD was first released in the 2014 Corvette C7..

Quote:
Helping turn torque into thrust is GM’s slick eLSD, which Link calls a “major tuning element for dynamic response.” By pushing standard clutch packs together using hydraulic pressure, it’s capable of up to 2000 Nm of coupling torque – a standard mechanical LSD can only hang on until 200 Nm. The eLSD’s real party trick, however, is its ability to vary coupling based on steering trace and throttle inputs.
