Way to get more brake vacuum for staging?

I was talking to my shop yesterday and was asking about staging my camaro vs a truck.
IE in the camaro, i will turn the top bulb on and since I am a footbraker, i will bring my rpms up to where my launch rpms need to be, and slowly lift my foot off the brake to get it to barely move so I can bump the second bulb on. The camaro will not move, not move, not move, and then move a bunch and I have to press the brake asap. My goal is just to have it creep, and not pick when to move. I have been told this is because it looses vacuum and hence cannot hold it back at RPM. one way to correct it is to leave at less RPM, but if I do that, my reaction times will suffer because I am further away from flashing the converter.

On my truck, i can barely lift the brake and the truck will creep and be very smooth to bump second bulb on. It is not jumpy like the camaro.

Anyone have a way to resolve this issue?
I am not sure I am explaining it all correctly, but hoping to find a footbraker that has done something to correct this on their car.

I did this:

Works fantastic and can be controlled by a manual switch ...

I actually saw your videos on a different post here:

https://ls1tech.com/forums/drag-raci...p-staging.html

In regards to staging, are you able to smoothly ease the car forward after you added this?

In regards to launching, is it easier to hold your car back at a higher RPM?

This is for making sure brake booster has vacuum — like I noted, if you have a hard pedal, this will help. BTW, Vettes have this too.

If you have low vacuum, add the electric pump vs belt driven. I road race now but, in the past using a vacuum pump for brake booster gives you what you need to ease forward.

You’ll have increased vacuum so yes, it holds way better.

Since you’re in Denton, you’re welcome to come by! Just hit me up ;o)

Thanks for the pointers Don! I may take you up on that on taking a look.

Where you road race at? I have gone to a couple track days at Motorsports Ranch in Cresson, but have since gone all in on bracket racing. Road course was most fun I have had, but its expensive on tires and brakes. I would have loved to run at Eagles Canyon and COTA prior to setting the car up for drag racing.

ECR, Cresson, NCM mostly. Cresson has been a year or so, ECR, loved that place. Track is being renovated so gotta wait.

COTA would be freaking awesome...

Did you put a manual switch in yours? I just reread and said it turns on with ignition and turns off 4 minutes later.

I could but I used a micro controller. There is an option to add a manual switch to the controller if needed...

I programmed the controller to act the way it is currently...
