The speed limiter can be raised well above a speed the car will most likely ever reach.

Wow! A 9 year old thread... The nannies are there for a reason, to keep you and your car safe. I would never permanently delete them, only turn them off when desired. Not having the ABS, is just nuts...

I had a Pro tune done to my car about 3 years ago. I DO NOT have to manually turn off the Nannie’s. They seem to be always off. It’ll smoke the tires on a straight line and it can indeed get away from you while cornering. Every time I start it. Just like the good old days. Respect thy vehicle!

I get it. I’m under no delusions that I’m a good enough driver to recover from a complete loss on control. Pretty rare that I put it through those kinds of paces. But…I’m at least aware it ‘could’ happen any day. I too got surprised recently on a 1-2 shift breaking loose. Getting close to new tire time.

Just for grins I don't think that you can turn off all the "nannies" in the tune. You can only modify the control method of the traction control and when it comes on. So you can disable all the traction control parameters and have no traction control at all but you can't disable abs or the stability control in the tune. To my understanding you can only disable the stability control and maybe the abs by using the traction control button with like two clicks or holding it or something like that. I don't really know because I never do that. I just turn off traction control sometimes to see if I'll hook from a dig.

Damn that sucks and she was a beauty.
I rather loose a race then lose my car.

I’m learning that too. I think tunes were banned some time ago. They were not FDA approved. Or was that the FAA? Flying too low!
