Thinking about going to school for tuning
So my current plan is to enlist in the US Navy, but lately i have been thinking about where i want to be down the road in life and am not sure if the Military will put me where i want to be. Can anyone recommend a good tuning school? Iv'e looked at henessy's tuner school but don't know of many others that offer the same program. i already have a good mechanical background, i do all the work on my own cars and work in HVAC.
Thanks! Any and all advice is appreciated!

Only get into HVAC if your are prepared to work long days, weekends and nights. Other than that you can make an okay living. I would say turning school if there is a need for that where you want to call home and you can have your own business. I can't image engine turners are in very high demand even though there seems to be very few good ones. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Wish the schooling didnt cost so much, i would do it, but it would be for personal knowledge to tune my own cars, not to try to make a living from.

Join the Navy. Get the GI Bill then go to tuning school. Also you'll have the VA loan to get a house later.

Hey qinedotvvc, GTFO spammer.
I agree, go Navy, and get some serious training, not just about a tech skill, but about life in general and how to approach situations. Stuff you can't and won't get in college. the benefits are huge whether you stay or go after your first hitch. You can even go to tuning tech school in your off-time, and have a good job to pay for it.

I see this thread is from quite a while ago, but it's great that you're thinking about your future career path. Going to a tuning school could be a fantastic choice if you have a strong mechanical background and a passion for working on cars.
While Hennessey's Tuner School is one option, you might want to explore other schools as well. Take a look at programs offered by various trade schools that specialize in automotive technology and tuning. Since you mentioned working in HVAC, you might also want to consider furthering your education in that field. https://www.onlytradeschools.com/hvac/ can offer you valuable skills and job opportunities.
