6l80 tuning question!!
Last year, the 6l80 transmission failed, prompting a complete overhaul with billet parts from Circle D transmissions, capable of handling up to 1000hp. Despite currently running at 701hp to the wheels, I took it for tuning after adding a 3200 converter, assuming it needed tuning I took it to the tuner. They set transmission to relearning, and I didn't think much of it at the time since they had tuned it before. However, the gas mileage has significantly worsened, now at 27L per 100kms (8.7mpg). After investing nearly $10k in the rebuild, I'm eager to ensure it's properly tuned, as I understand that a faulty tune alone can lead to transmission failure.
If anyone has any insight or knowledge that would be awesome. |

It's kinda hard to find a good tranny tuner but one of the most important things you need to do. I found out that Ryan at GPI is one of the best engine and tranny tuners out there. So if I was you I would pay to get an email tune from them. There's just too many variables in the trans tune to let anybody do it. Another thing is torque reduction, I have all that crap turned off.

Look at Justin White (Justin White Tuned) or Tim King (TK Transmissions). I haven't used them, but they are supposed to be the best in the business for trans tuning on LS/LT based motors.

Do you have HPTuners?
If so, look up BlueCat tuning and plug your info in and it spits out the variables needed to put into HPT and works great

I had Steve at 6L80tuning.com tune my car. The transmission tune is spot on and we'll worth it.
