Speakers are only as good as the power going to them. Do you have the BA system? Whether or not you have the BA system, you need a good or better, amp to power your new speakers.

Which line of Kickers did you install? And an amp is definitely recommended.

Sometimes installing high power rated speakers and running OEM (small power) Amps makes you worse off then if you had just kept the factory speakers in.

So yeah you probably need an amp.

The price of the amp depends on the brand and power specs. A nice 4-channel JL Audio amp can run anywhere from $250-$300.

Only if you want to stay with a particular brand. But my amp is a JL Audio and all speakers are Alpine Type-R's.

I have the Alpine PDX amps, they run very cool and have alot of power. I run 100 watts X 4 on the inside and 600 watts to my subs. Look into Alpine.

Are you sure you have them hooked up with the right polarity, positive and negative? With factory wire its easy to cross a wire and they will sound very flat ,dull ,you should tell a difference with those kickers, should sound brighter.

If you want you can call me and ill talk you through it but basically if you have the stock speakers with the clips turn them face down and the wire on the right should be the positive, make sure its on the positive side of the kicker, check both,

No worries! We're here to help and give advice (even if sometimes, it's the wrong advice).

I'm guessing 2-way and 4-way are referring to the channels(?), meaning how many speakers the amp can output to. But of course, I could be wrong
