What if I go to low?
I am planning on Coilovers and dropping it. At least 1inch maybe 2. I plan on having the car built out of state. I live in an area with lots of steep grades, my driveway is one of them. I'm not gonna totally slam it but like I said 1-2"s down.
So how hard is it to change the ride height after the instal is done? If I can't get in and out of my driveway it might be a problem . What sort of clearance am I looking at having at tfor he lowest points under the car and at the nose? My little beater car right now is pretty low and I have no issues but if I had some hard numbers I could compare them to my ride now. |

Well do you have a body kit or anything like that?
Also keep in mind that everytime you adjust the ride height you have to get another alignment done. |

Don't go under 1.50, it'll be WAY too low

went 1.5 and could not get alignment correct on rear, eating up inside of rears, so i went to 1.25 and that fixed mt alignment issue...wiith razzi gfx kit , i run approx 4 inches road height...need to take off wheels to set height and then align car...everytime you change ride height it changes alignment on all 4 wheels

If you know that clearance is going to be a problem then I wouldn't go any lower than 1 inch. The gap from 1-2 inches is huge. Like lscamaro mentioned, when you change the ride height you will have to get your alignment checked.

I'm at 1.25 and that combined w/ LTs and HF cats - I'm riding low and have to be careful or I scrape. I have a higher than normal curb cut at the end of the driveway. I have to go very slowly at an angle, one wheel at a time and only me in the car or I scrape the HF cats. The stock height cleared the same curb with ease and no concerns. So, I would advise caution and start at 1.25. Then you can measure your clearance with your car in your driveway and if you have some room to spare you could later drop it some more.

I'm not planning on any body GFX. I understand the need for an alignment (all wheels) after changing ride height.
Sounds like 1.25 is the sweet spot then. Mike - interesting that the 1/4 inch made a difference in the alignment. 4" off road from road to what? Frame, headers? SS - did you ever measure the exact distance between your low point and the ground? I'm curious what it is. Are there some headers or cats that hang lower than others? If so what gives the most room in the high quality relm? My little Mercury Tracer with 14" wheels rides pretty low. Generally don't have any issues, but it has a shorter wheel base too. If I do decide to go lower or higher, what is involved before the alignment? Is it as simple as unloading the axel and wrenching some settings or will I need a coli compression tool or more? |

Sounds like you need airbag suspension,

I'm 1.8"/1.7" lowered on H&R Super Sport springs. Not too bad. Obviously it's low, but I haven't had any more trouble than I expected. Go for it man.

I have a full ARH system. I don't know if it hangs any lower than others but I don't think so. And everything is installed as high and tight as it should be. Good luck with the coilovers. I wish I had the $$$ to go that way instead of drop springs.
