Nice car Randy, get out there and put a few miles on it, your gonna have a blast at C5Fest. I have an idea for your new handle name Black Rising Sun, don't know where it came from, just being quirky I guess.

LISTING OF 2014 SPRING/SUMMER CAR EVENTS

Hey there folks, as you have noticed it has finally got warmer around these, even through we really never had much of winter like the rest of the country, but none the less the warmer it gets means that the race tracks and car shows are starting to open up. With that said here is a list of all events that are confirmed and occurring around the Las Cruces/El Paso area in the next coming months.

April 12th [Saturday|9a-11am]: Caffeine & Octane Cruise-In
Coronado Shopping Center - Corner of N. Mesa & Sunland Park Drive - El Paso, TX
- Caffeine & Octane is a monthly event that takes places every second Saturday of each month that is exactly similar to the Cars & Coffee events that you hear about. It takes place at the Coronado Shopping Center parking lot right next to the Starbucks, so you can grab youself a cup of coffee and then talk shop with many individuals of various clubs and vehicles. It's a simple drive up and park deal with cars ranging from your antiques, classics, old school muscle, new wave performance and exotics. The event lasts until 11am which runs perfectly for anyone or group wishing to grab lunch right when all the restaurants open afterwards.

April 12th [Saturday]: ASR Test N Tune
Arroyo Seco Raceway - Arroyo Seco/Deming, NM
- ASR TNT is an event where you can take your vehicle on the drag strip to test its speed, time, and practice your skills in drag racing. Open to all makes, models and upgrades even if your vehicle is stock.

April 25th [Friday|5pm]: Hudson's Cruise Night
Hudson's Bar & Grill - 1770 N Lee Trevino Dr, El Paso, TX
- The Hudson's Bar & Grill Cruise-In is a monthly event that takes place on the last Friday of every month where the restaurant and surrounding parking lots are open for all years, makes and models to drive in, park and socialize with all folks that are interested in anything and everything about automotives. Food such as burgers and hot dogs are grilled outside with live music playing and the restaurant is indeed open if you'd care for a more diverse menu selection. Though the event begins at 6pm, you must take take note that if we decide to attend this event a few of us MUST arrive at around 4:30pm in order to save a few spots because the lots get full come around 5:30pm and is nearly impossible to find any kind of parking.

May 1st-4th [Thursday - Sunday]: CAMARO5 FEST V
Royal Purple Raceway - Baytown, TX

- Camaro5 Fest for those of you that have been living under a rock sonce the 5th Gens arrived, is an annual Camaro event that is mainly for anything and everything relating to the Camaro 5th Gens. With daily activities being held at the Royal Purple Raceway outside of Houston, TX holding events such as open class drag races sponsored by American Racing Headers, autocross, a car show sponsored by Adam's Polishes and as well as meet n greets with the GM and Chevrolet folks responsible for the 5th Gen Camaro.

A few of us have already made arrangements for the pilgrimage to the event and plan on leaving on Thursday morning at 5am from Las Cruces, NM for the 10hr journey to Baytown, TX. If you are interested in joining, please make note here on the thread so we can provide you with the most up date info on the plans.

May 10th [Saturday|9am-11am]: Caffeine & Octane Cruise-In
Coronado Shopping Center - Corner of N. Mesa & Sunland Park Drive - El Paso, TX

May 10th [Saturday|10am-4pm]: Mission Chevrolet 11th Annual Car Show
Mission Chevrolet Dealership - 1316 George Dieter Dr., El Paso, TX
- Held at the Mission Chevrolet dealership in the Eastside of El Paso, the 11th Annual show is sponsored by the El Paso Corvette Club and brings out some of the best automobiles from around the El Paso area. Cash prizes are awarded for various classes and best in shows. All proceeds from the this go to benefit the Fisher House and El Paso Children's Hospital. Registration is $25 for this event. Additional information on preparation for this event will be provided soon.

May 17th [Saturday]: ASR Test N Tune
Arroyo Seco Raceway - Arroyo Seco/Deming, NM

May 30th [Friday|5pm]: Hudson's Cruise Night
Hudson's Bar & Grill - 1770 N Lee Trevino Dr, El Paso, TX

June 14th [Saturday|10am-3pm]: Kiwanis Kars for Kids Car Show
Young Park - Las Cruces, NM
- The 15th Annual Kiwanis Kars for Kids Show is held at Young Park in Las Cruces, NM where all entrants are able to park their vehicles on the grass throughout the park displaying their prized motorized possessions for all to see. A pancake breakfast is provided to everyone entered made by the Kiwanis with Hamburgers and Hot Dogs being sold as well as live music played throughout the day. The event is a unique one as this is held in the mid summer season, instead of the usual parking in the hot smoldering parking lots we are able to park on top of the grass and enjoy the day out in the park.

Registration starts at $25 before the day of event where the price will jump to $30 on site. We have plans to make this car show a spectacle to display everything that Camaro5 EP/LC has to offer, so we would like to have everyone's partiipation for this event as much as possible. If you own an older generation Camaro we would really like for you to see if you can enter it in. More details for the event preparations will come soon.

June 28th [Saturday|TBA]: TRANSFORMERS 4: Age of Extinction Camaro5 Movie Day
TBD - TBD
- SAVE THIS DATE! Make work arrangements to have off, cancel any wedding plans, contact a babysitter as we will make a whole Saturday for this movie event. When Transformers 3 was released in theaters a few years back, we were able to have a whole round about reserved strictly for us at the Cineport 10 movie theaters in Las Cruces, NM and also display one of our members' Transformer Edition Camaro inside the theater itself. We were also able to walk to one of the fine restaurant establishments where we were catered to and had a whole banquet room reserved for us. Afterwards being able to be escorted to the front of the line for a showing of our choosing for Transformers 3 and then off to Scoopy's Custard.

Well, be sure to expect the same for this year as soon as we hear back from the many theaters that we are in talks with to see which would provide us with the best benefits, accommodations, and assistance with ensuring that our cars will be protected.

So what do you folks think? Let's make this the year where Camaro5 EP/LC comes out and represents the local Camaro Community to its fullest!!!

Hey guys, not sure if anybody is interested, but I will be selling my Doug Thorley ceramic coated shorty headers and JBA catless mid pipes. I was looking to try and get $450 for both, will bolt up to factory and most aftermarket exhaust.

I did not have the chance to use these, but they are used and DTs have a few scratches from previous installation and the JBA mids are in great shape but you can tell they have been used, you will need to reuse your factory gaskets or get new gaskets for both.

New the DT's run about $500 and the JBA's around $250, the DT's are the best shorty headers on the market and show results comparable to some of the lower end long tubes even with stock cats, only reason I am selling is I ended up picking up a Kooks LT setup.

If anybody is interested I can post up some pics this evening. Just thought I would post it up here first and avoid shipping.
