Questions about dealer allocations

If a dealer tells you he has allocations to order. How long should it take to go from 1100 to 2000.

And once you get to 2000 is the dealer part done. meaning you will be waiting to go through gm code process.

Theres a few posts about this already on the front page. It depends on how many orders GM pulls from that dealer for the month. Ask your dealer.

It took mine less than 24 hours to go from 1100 to 3000.

Well, nobody on this board knows what your dealers' allocations are. No one is allowed to look up your order number here either. You can either call the 1800# or call your dealer.

short answer: it all depends. I ordered on October 24th and have been at 1100 for months. Started at #7 position of 9 BUT 4 weeks ago I was told I got bumped up to position #3 and was next in line to get pulled any day now. And the crickets have been chirping ever since...

Depends on the definition of allocation he's using. There's basically three.

1. The total amount of cars dealers could expect up through the end of September. The real name for this is the "production guide number." But this is probably most often called allocation.
2. The amount of cars a dealer will get in a given month. Sometimes called "consensus". I'm not sure what the proper term is for this.
3. The weekly allocation. This is the actual allocation. Each month (in the middle of the month) they are told how many cars they're getting and which week of they will be getting them for the month.

So if he's referring to #1, who knows. But should be before October.
#2, sometime this month
#3, if it's submitted this week, it should be at 3000 by next Wednesday.

they probably don't know themselves. once you order, you are at 1100. once GM "pulls your order" they are notified and will probably tell you. but they should however, as of right now, know how many are in front of you and how many they get built thru the end of may.

keep on em. ur dealer is the only one who can see that info. other dealers can look up your order, but will only be able to tell you 1100.

welcome to the waiting room. if you think you'll get to 3000 as fast as theshadow1234................you're sadly mistaken. that was a fluke!

No i wouldn't expect to move that fast. I just don't want to be like these poor people who order in oct an are still at 1100. Because the dealer can't order.
