For those with 3.91 gears installed by a shop..
About how much did it cost you for labor. I am asking because I am thinking about picking up a set and having a shop install it. Probably local dealer ( I have a great report with them) and hopefully that will help save my warranty as I still have a few years and 23k miles left.

Local Chevy dealership here gave me a 1k(ish) estimate. I ended up going with Lashways diff swap because they could get it to me faster than my dealership said they could get the gears in. And it gave me a great excuse to do subframe and diff bushings at the same time!

True, but only if the new calibration for the SS with 3.91's has been released. I have not heard if it has been yet. Scott@Bjorn3D is the one that posted about this updated calibration. Might want to send him a PM. Otherwise, your going to void your warranty.

Thanks guys. I just wanted an idea. I know its pretty labor intensive but I hate paying a huge amount for something that cost 250.00. As for the warranty ill hold on to them if it will void it and just wait until it gets blown this winter. I'm just trying to do Supporting mods little by little that won't hurt the warranty. Gears, drive shaft, axles, pfadt zl1 stage 2 kit, zr1 clutch.

It is do out toward the end of this month. To have drivetrain warranty has to be GM gears put in by dealer or complete 1LE differential like I did put in by dealer.

Question - Are you racking up 13% more miles on your odometer until the GM calibration comes out? If so can that be corrected too?

Depends on what options you want to go with it. JRE clutch pak, BMR bushings, billet cap option, etc.
Prices posted above are all about normal. We keep most in stock ready to swap. |
