Metal shavings on dipstick?

It this normal. I have around 500 miles on the car and I'm doing the Hard Load break in method. I just checked my oil and noticed metal shavings almost everytime I put the dipstick back in. Tell me I didn't screw something up!!!

Dude, you're screwed. Maybe you should have taken it easy with your break-in. Your dealer wont do anything to help either. Next thing you know you'll be burning oil and seeing a lot of smoke coming out of your pipes.

Good luck. Let us know how far you get before it craps out on you.

You need to get more hooked on these forums! Read as much as you can. Pretty soon the only GM engineers will know more about the Camaro than you.

Yup, I changed mine around 1200 miles and there were PLENTY of metal shavings in the oil. I'll do it again at 5K, then let her ride a while...

This is normal for a new engine, don't worry. It's been talked about on here before, so you may be able to find it somewhere, not sure where though...
