If you hold a steady rpm in your burnout once the tires start warming up you will drop a cpl hundred rpms then you know its getting stickier

we are going to need to know alot more about the car.
17, what tire? WHICH mickeys ET street R or Street S/S? What suspension upgrades have you done? I suspect there to be more on the table for a mildly bolton ZL1 with a stock converter. Solid rear subframe bushings? trailing arm? Toe rod? rear Drag sway bar? Does the front of the car have a sway bar intact? Are you on double adjustable coilovers? Skinny's? What does an entire pass for you look like? 1/8 1/4 trap speeds. It will show us how much you have left on the table based on what your trap speed can show. You saying it just spins through the 60' with 17's means it probably wheel hops around. |

All mods are in my sig, all stock suspension. These are the Street ET R. I ran low tens with a best of a 10.83 early this year in really good DA with a 1.666 60' at 126.5 mph. I'm not sure if the tires are getting worn out already. They were brand new this year but I do drive them on the street as well. My best 60' of the day last weekend was 1.752.
60 - 1.752 330 - 4.866 1/8 - 7.418 MPH - 98.45 1000 - 9.608 1/4 - 11.475 (On the brakes) MPH - 117.14 (On the brakes) DA - 3300 I'm suspecting it's the tires since nothing has changed from early this year to now, but I'm not sure?

Solid rear bushings, im about to install a set of pegasus solids in the rear.
While you are in there switch in different upper controll arm bushings. I opted for the Z28 as it is supposed to be drastically stiffer then SS or zl1 counterparts. There are other more solid options available as well. I bet these 2 things immensely assist in stability of the rear, allowing less deflection and assisting and firming up the rear grip. I have the same tire and they need a good smokey burnout in 2nd gear (3-4 seconds) hold your brakes down when you stage and bring your rpms up. 3rd yellow let off the brakes and mash the peddle to the floor at the same time. If the track isn't prepped good you will spin. I'll dead hook with those tires if the track prep is good and my Nitrous comes on right when I nail it. Usually can get a 1.5-1.6 when track is prepped good. Those tires wear really fast on the road, I swap wheels for the road.

Sounds more and more like they are junk from driving them on the street, even though they are still over half tread from looking at the grooves.

Are you going around the waterbox and then backing in, pulling up to the damp part and then doing your burnout?
Are you getting behind people in line who drive through the waterbox that have street tires up front? No matter how good the track is prepped, even with very sticky tires, I run the same tire you do but in 18", if you or the person in front of you drags water up to the line, you will spin. Adding some air to the fronts is a good idea as well, it provides less rolling resistance and helps the car squat better off the line. Lining up dead center in the groove helps a lot too. My car is around 500 rwhp w/125 shot of nitrous and Circle D 3200 TC...1.5X 60'

I pull through the water box and do my burnout. Most of the cars in my class are on drag radials are slicks. Everyone goes through the box and never goes around and backs in.
