Magnaflow 15089 Catback

OK, here we go with the new exhaust:

Same mufflers except with xpipe that I had before I changed (broken clamps and leaks around the welds):

JPSS Radius Rod Bushing Insert came in today! I'll need to remove the tires, splash shields, and brake cooling ducts. With that in mind, I'll just wait until I do the 'second' HX since I have to take all of that off anyway to do that.

Here they are in all their glory:

I'll wait until the weekend. Will want a full day to do the hx and inserts (along with decent weather)...

Yep, XPipe vs Resonator -- deeper bass on the new setup and a bit quieter.

Liking it so far!

Thanks!

Just for those who wonder, I'm going to take the car out in the next day or so (its raining here right now) and will get the gopro to record the cabin noise with the updated HE bushings -- I'm hoping it will capture the sound so you know what to expect. I'll record it from stop to highway speeds and back (should be around 20 to 30 minutes). This way, folks can decide for themselves.

MISHIMOTO COMPACT BAFFLED OIL CATCH CAN works!

Boy, am I glad I added this after I changed the venting on the clean side. Look @ this after 1800 miles:

That is almost half full! They say to empty every 1K miles -- I'm thinking 1500 miles would be a safe max after seeing this.

Nice to keep it in the can!

OK, ordered some parts for my intercooling project.

Have the ZL1 stock that i'll be adding, but also picked up this one:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/140584269021...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Since the new ZL1 has 11 HX, I figured I'll see if I can add a total of 3 -- just to keep IAT2 temps in ck -- not expecting a 'big' reduction, but, if I can keep them lower, I'll 'keep' more of the power I'm making.

Also ordered a bypass hose from Pegasus to connect the Ron Davis and Factory ZL1 HX together:

https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/pr...sp?RecID=11865

With this setup, I'll see if the additional capacity and cooling surface area will help. May take a week or so before I get them.

Fun to experiment and learn...

Yep, but I already know what it can do in 96° weather ;o). Besides, I won't sweat to death doing the install and I like cussing out the car while I'm making changes -- its therapeutic before the holidays ;o)

Speaking of cussing out -- Chargers? Monkey needs medical marijuana...

Test Drive Hendrix Offset Diff Bushings and Eaton TrueTrac

OK, as promised, this is the test drive from city to highway to city with the Eaton TrueTrac and the Hexdrix Delrin Offset Diff Bushings.

As you get to the highway driving, you'll start to hear the diff 'chant' (ummmmmmmmmmmm as well as the 'errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr') as I increase speed. This is the noise transmitted by the upgraded bushings. As you go faster and increase the load (going up hills), you'll begin to hear the pitch change.

Its about 10 minutes -- but will give you an idea of the noise these bushings will induce:

Iv installed the 3.91 gears..... and some times they have a slight whine.

I can deal with that, even my wife screaming from time to time.

But theses new bushings are to much.

That's why I posted so folks would know. These are the Delrin version. Only 50 miles on these so I'll drive more on this setup to see how it goes. I believe there is a poly/Delrin setup that will be quieter.

Did take the wife out just to see how much she noticed. She did notice the higher pitch noise and the load changes. I placed the camera right where I heard the sounds the loudest.

The Eaton TrueTrac by its nature induces more clunks as you accelerate/decelerate...

Goes to show how much noise the stock bushings absorb...

Got a backup set of Rotors (front/rear) from Orange10SS and a great deal too! 5k miles on them for less than the price of one front -- really happy about having a spare set!

Thanks Orange10!
