I still cant decide if im going to commit to the 11 hour drive and the expenses of going if I only get a run or two in because of how fast the car is. because im not putting a cage in it.

most of the fest in the past have been very lax in this dept. but im wondering since that rule was brought to their attention if they will be looking harder.

It was brought to the attention the last two years and the track in fact posted in this forum. You also have autoX and IF the cage was a problem you still have 1/8 mile runs you could do. Lot's of driving in it no matter what happens.

Again, it's not the rules I'm running, it's NHRA and the track. Whether it's strictly enforced or not remains to be seen but plan for the strict case.

I am confused. If someone were to show up and fail tech, would they then be able to appeal the decision with a 2014 NHRA Rule Book reference and with 2014 Rule Book in hand proving that their car actually meets NHRA requirements?

Not a bad idea. A little hard to enforce and for 2 days of racing with a lot of new racers there's barely enough cars in each class as it is. We did split the top class into two and added some extra classes so some folks can double up or even run 3 events with brackets.
