Can a car be replaced after numerous repairs ---UPDATE
Well took it to the dealership with the TSB in hand and documentation of all previous repairs. Informed them again of the problem I've been having since 2012 and they replaced the torque converter.(after some convincing). They must of had the part in stock because they replaced it overnight. First day I got it back which was Friday all was good and no sound but heard it again today(Saturday). This was the 4th repair. If it's not the torque converter then WHAT IS THE PROBLEM??? This is so frustrating. Do I keep pushing this issue or just let it go? Maybe it's not fixable and I will have to deal with this.
Below is a description of the issue I've been having. From what I hear this is a problem a lot of people on this forum has had http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=342552 |

It's up to you, of course, but there's no way I would let it go. Something is wrong with your car and it is their responsibility to fix it. Hang in there and when they finally do get it fixed... dump it. Just my opinion.

When you get a difficult problem to diagnose, the key is finding a mechanic who is motivated to find the solution and refuses to be beaten by it. These are machines. That means they can ALWAYS be fixed. I had a mystery water intrusion problem on a car and it took about 8 trips to get to the bottom of it. They started out squirting caulk everywhere (which didn't work) and ended up pulling the wiring harness, inspecting each individual wire and finally found the short. Problem eliminated. If yours is warranty work, you can go to any dealer. Talk to the service manager in advance. Describe the work done to date and your frustration. Tell him you're looking for an experienced mechanic who won't give up until he succeeds. Then support their efforts with as much time and as many trips as needed. You will succeed if you follow this plan.

One of the the Chevy customer service rep here on this site has offered assistance. Maybe that should be my next step so that they can direct me elsewhere. A new set of eyes.

Quick note about Lemon Law.... might be different in your state, but in Florida, the lemon law only applies from the date of ORIGINAL IN SERVICE DATE.... not since the last repair, but since the ORIGINAL IN SERVICE DATE. if your going down the lemon law road... get the repairs done as fast as possible, within the warranty period. i had the nissan titan 'brake judder' issue and had the repairs done as needed, 8 times as a matter of fact, new rotors, pads, calipers, the works, resurfaced the rotors a couple dozen times.... i was just over 40k when the effect happened again, and exercised the lemon law with a lawyer, and nissan pointed out, from the original in service date clause.... |
