Airbag issue
I have a 2013 camaro 2ls. I went to Italy 6 months ago and was gone for 3 weeks. When I came home my battery had died. When I charged it and turned it on I had a service airbag service message and the dash display also. Been there ever since. I had surgery and some other things pop up that stopped me from dealing with it. Well, because now I'm working and healed and have things back to normal in my life. So here's my question. I have a tune on the way and currently have nitrous in the car and was wondering if j should handle the airbag issue before I download it and take the nitrous off or should I go to someone who has a computer and is register to access the security and safety portions of the camaro (I know someone who can he just doesn't get to my area often) I have 45xxx miles and out of "warranty" so that's been another question mark for me. Any help is appreciated. Thanks guys!

When I had my Airbag light come on under warranty, the GM Tech removed the air bag fuses, per service bulletin to re-boot the system.
Search "service air bag", there is a long thread on here from 2009. Edit: Here it is. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...service+airbag

If you want hassle free warranty service, wait until the airbag issue is resolved. If you are tight with a local dealer that like aftermarket then talk to them before you tune.

I would try disconnecting battery, turn key on to drain system, reconnect battery. Do this with doors unlocked so you don't get locked out.
If that don't work probably just needs reset. Normal code readers can't reset airbag lights. Most shops should have one. |
