Small chip on the CF insert

Noticed this today after washing the car, it seems that something has managed to make a small scratch on the CF insert. I can feel it with my nail but it doesn't go too deep (it's just on the protective surface I think). Any ideas on what I could do to rectify this?

I tried to take a picture but it didn't come out too well, had to turn on the flash due to poor light conditions.

Thanks.

The picture doesn't show it very well but do a search on defective insert and compare it to my photos.

My insert and another C5'er had to have ours replaced under warranty because they were defective and had cracks that could be felt by the fingernail.

I'd compare to our photos and see how yours compares.

If yours is trully just a scratch, the ECF's are clear coated and can be buffed/polished like clear coated paint.

It doesn't look quite the same, mine seems more isolated. I'll try to polish the area and see if that makes an improvement.

Thanks.

There is a insert that comes with the ZL1 that says that there are going to be blemishes on the CFH insert and is normal.

It did not say cracks, but any white spots are normal.
Any clear filler may fix it.

I have a similar spot on my insert. I know its not any of the issues that have been had from the factory. It wasnt there when I bought it so I know its not a waranty issue. Something scratched it. I would normally be thinking"how could something bounce off the road all the way up there",but Ive found 2 tiny rock chips on top of my front fenders(very sticky tires)!!! I tried going over it with a PC and FMP(Adams) but it didnt do much. Granted I was scared to leave the PC on there long so I just ran over it a couple of times(really quick). If you find something that fixes it(or covers it up) let me know.Ill try it.
