You could always put it on the front an "mis judge" how close you are to a wall or something. "Oh now now I will need to have my bumper fixed... and have the front plate holder removed all together."

Put it on the back, drive with it until you find a better one, hide the better one and then say it got broken somehow and you're going to go "buy" a new one. Pull out new one later and put it on.

Hang it on the garage wall. Tell her you don't want it to get damaged from pebbles/debris (if it were on the car).

Honestly if it was me..... I would buy a custom vanity plate that says something cool mount them together and hang it it the garage or in the house somewhere.

Tell her Camaros have a special exemption to a front plate requirement and you won't need a frame for the front.
Get the receipt and exchange it for something you like better.
Folks get clothing for Christmas and that stuff is returned and exchanged without hurting feelings.
