5th Gen or 6th Gen?

It’s all about preferences just like anything. While I loved my 2015 Black SS, I traded it for a 2018 Black SS with Recaro seats, decklid spoiler with the wicker bill. I use it as a DD and take my kid to day care with it, just like I used to with my 2015. My new one runs so much better and 2016-2018 looks very nice!! 5th gens’ look great as well.

I refuse to own another vehicle with active fuel management. I enjoy my 5th gen to a point but if the someday 7th gen camaro still has afm, then off to some other platform.

Seems like just yesterday the new 5th gen hit the showroom. That was 9 years ago. With the blink of an eye,the same will be true of the 6 th gen. They're due a refresh. Then it's on to the next, newer, faster, better. I thought about "upgrading" to the new platform but it was the 5th gen I new I had to have the first time I saw one. I slipped a little more power under the hood. Undetectable actually, to next, newer, faster. You couldn't run me down and give me a 6th gen....literally

I never knew the 5th versus 6th gen rivalry was this heated! I love my 5th gen but all things being equal, cost wise, I’d go 6th in a NY minute! My only concern is the durability of the new LT1 versus the well established LS.

I am with the poster that is waiting for the 7th gen. Maybe we will get a better looking, better performing (no dod) car.

Impossible. GM is in love with DOD. See the new Silverado.

Guaranteed the 7th Gen will have cylinder deactivation.

Any mass produced V8 will need it. Once they put it in base Corvette’s, it was game over.

Low volume high performance motors like LT4/5, 392 Hemi/Hellcat, GT500 motors will be the only ones to get away without it

Go for witch ever you think looks better. Unless performance is your main concern.

5th gens have a presence on the roads. They will always be one of the most iconic cars made by Chevrolet. Or the US for that matter. Remember how obsessed the world was with the 5th gen when it came out? Not even car people, but it was breaking everyone's necks. The 6th gen will never have that.

Does that sentiment also extend to the "refreshed" SS models for '19?

After owning two 5th gens ,2010SS and a 2014 SS/1le i can say without a doubt 6th Gen all the way. The love for the 6th Gen is growing every day ,just not with the few that feel a need to hold on to what they have . I added a link also you should see.
