My kit will be here Friday (bought used) it has the 57/57 turbos. Do I need a T3 or T4 turbo gasket? I have also been told just use High temp silicon?

I'm pretty sure it is a T3 but I'd call to confirm.

Yes, T3, you can often reuse the gaskets but get new if you want

New gaskets and no silicon needed

Is there any performance difference between running stock manifolds or shorty heads?

On higher HP cars (over 1000whp) shorty headers do make more power the last 500rpm. But they have some downsides too. Under 1050whp I would not personally run them. All our 1200+whp cars do have them though.

I guess we will see how far manifolds will go on mine. Maybe I'll do a back to back comparison.

Can you adjust Gain on the GFB2 even if youre only on wastegate? I.e, im only on 6lbs, but i feel like im not seeing peak until what seems to be relatively late in the powerband(close to 4k).

54/57 .82's, stock ls3

"The Gain setting controls how fast boost pressure rises during spool-up."

First line of the Gain portion of the GFB instructions lol! Follwed by "NOTE: the gain setting requires a target “peak” boost to be set up in duty cycle. If you adjust duty cycle
without performing a boost run, the target boost will be 0 and gain will not function.
Gain is adjustable from 0-100, where 0 gives a factory-like spool up, which is basically the “natural” rise rate of the
turbo system. A setting of 100 will attempt to make boost rise as fast as the turbo system is capable of by
delaying the opening of the wastegate."

The bold part is important or changing the gain settings do nothing. Be careful not to set to aggressively or you will spike the boost higher than it's set up for.

And if you think under 4k is "relatively late in the power band" I don't think turbos were the right choice look at all the dynos sheets 4k is where the party is just getting started 5k+ is where all the power comes in hard
