Blue paint around oil cap and inside valve cover

I was just cleaning my car today after its been sitting in the garage for the winter, i havent really driven it at all lately, > 1000 Miles in 5 months, Just had oil change last week. I noticed blue paint chips around the oil cap, and blue paint chips inside the neck into the valve covers. I see blue on the only visible spring from the view from valve cover cap, but want to know where the hell the blue paint chips are coming from and if they will damage/clog my engine. 2012 2SS/RS TF3 Edition 1 Year old 9,800 Miles. (most from first few months) Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'l have to take pix of the cap tomorrow, i forgot tonight. It deff looks like paint, it comes off on your fingers like it too. That chip texture feeling. I just noticed it now. I treat this car like it is my kid. Meticulously maintained - never seen rain, sleet, salt, snow, extreme heat or extreme cold. Everything about this car is maintained. How I over looked this beats me. Non daily driver. Garage kept since day 1. I just had the oil changed at the dealer and was there while they were actually changing it (I do the IT/Computer work for Cadillac) so I was just BS'ing with the tech. and he didn't say anything looked out of whack. Ugh just frustrating!

My 2011 had the same thing, I thought it was coming from the oil cap seal.

My 2 cents: the paint came from the oil funnel the shop used when they filled your oil. Could have come from the car they did before yours, or it was a painted funnel, old and flaky paint just came off of it. Doubt it will hurt anything in your engine, the filter should catch it.

Some of the valve springs come Painted blue. Mine were painted yellow. It's nothing to worry about.

Thanks for all the input everyone! The ring around the cap is blue, I just thought it was the strangest thing. My buddy said he thought the LS3's were yellow springs, but I guess some of them are blue (nice!) I'll have to look at the oil when i change it next time very closely. I was planning on doing some post winter overhauls on the car, eg. a flush of all systems including the oil (if its possible) to clear out any crap. Any ideas, yay nay? I do IT work for a Cadillac dealer and they do all the work on the house, just think an post winter flush would be good for a car thats been sitting. Ideas?
