I need some serious help!!!!
As some of you might know my baby ( my 2011 camaro ) was hit and totaled about 2 years ago, and I was to impatient to wait on an SS, and I made the decision on a 2007 dodge charger SRT8. Needless to say I'm not to happy with my decision, within 4 months I had to get a new transmission, and within a couple months I found out the car was in an accident and the first owner never reported it on the carfax! The car does have problems but nothing major, seeing all of these camaros recently I feel the urge again to get another camaro I miss my car extremely! I was extremely close to pulling the trigger on a 2011 camaro SS just like my old one and it had an edelbrock supercharger ( 645 horses!!!! ) but it couldn't happen.
I'm starting college in September at UTI to become a certified BMW mechanic and I need some help making a decision, I know I want another and I'm determined to get one I just have one problem should I be a little more patient and find an SS? Or should I just pull the trigger ASAP and get a pretty sweet v6 again? I need help brothers and sisters Edit: my old camaro was an RS/LT v6 I test drive the supercharged SS and WOW! My srt8 is a monster in my opinion and I'm not sure if the v6 with satisfy my needs but I know at my school ill be able to do loads of stuff to it |

Sorry to hear of all your problems with the Dodge. The previous owner probably fixed the car without involving the insurance company that's why it's not showing up on Carfax.
If your old Camaro was an SS then i wouldn't get anything other than an SS. If your old Camaro was a V6 and you were happy with it then get another V6. Good luck with school. |

If you really want that power, go with SS, the v6 will disappoint you (in your case)

SS FTW imo you cant go from a v8 to a v6 unless gas economy is really a problem, but thats just my opinion. good luck with school i was gunna go there as well, but didn't have the financial resources! :(

If your going to be a mechanic then I would think the V8 makes more sense since you will have more options of things to work on with the car. Also since your even questioning it now, you will continue to question it if you get a V6. I just switched to the V8 even though I loved my V6, simply because I wanted the 2 level trim package and the power of the V8. If I had kept the V6 I would always be thinking of the V8, and I wanted to be completely happy as long as I was stuck making the payments. A load of nice low mileage 2SS on the market.

SRT8 to a V6? Nah...You will go nuts wishing you had an SS.
I vote SS for sure. |

My thoughts exactly. It's hard to give up once you've been used to it. My first car was a '56 BelAir 2-door hardtop, with 300hp 327. Gave it up in 1970 for a VW Beetle. Dependable, but never forgave myself!
