The 12 and newer steering wheels are designed for driving with your hands at the 9 & 3 position. They made changes in the thumb hangers, and when using them the OEM paddles work great. The 9 & 3 position is used for safety reasons, so if you get in trouble and the airbag deploys you don't put the back of your hand through your face. This position of the thumb hangers and paddles work great in the ZL1, and I can take 90 degree corners without moving my hand position.

It's funny how its always people with automatics that complain about threads where people say they want manual. I don't think I have ever seen 1 thread with a person saying how much they hate their manual and want an automatic lol. If you are so tired of it leave the thread and go steer your car down the street. Guy is just stating his problems and what he feels he needs.

L99's like 91 to 93 octane, If it feels slow do fuse pull, usually dealer puts in low octane, best is a TUNE, did mine when one month old, you can tune transmission shifts also (with dyno tune) 30 HP and 45 ft.lb torque makes you forget about shifting.

Its all preference. Some people like the feeling of driving stick while some just simply want to have an automatic. Different strokes for different folks. I have to drive in traffic everyday so I got an automatic since it is my daily driver.
OP, if you like the feeling of driving stick and have the resources to get car over the manual, go for it. No one can help you with this decision except you. Camaros, no matter if they are automatic or manual, are great cars. Its just a matter of how you want it.
